Professional background:

Zuzana Cervenkova has a degree in two professions: a nurse and a teacher. She graduated at the secondary Nursing School in Chrudim in 1994. She started to work as a nurse in University Hospital in Hradec Králové (urology) and then in regional hospital in Chrudim (medical), where she lives.

During her nursing career, she studied bachelor studies (Nursing) at the Charles University, at the Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové. During maternity leave, she worked at the Home Care Agency and also worked as a teacher at the secondary Nursing School in Chrudim. This job was the reason why she started master studies at the Palacky University, at the Faculty of Education. Thereafter she worked as a teacher at the secondary Nursing School in Pardubice and as a teacher at the primary school for children with behavioural disorders in Chrudim.

Zuzana has been working at FHS UPCE since October 2014. She used to lead practice in Nursing Skills. Now she lectures and leads practice in Anatomy and teaches quality and safety of health care and didactics of professional procedures and professional internships. 

  • In 2021, she finished her PhD studies focusing on the management of postoperative pain in regard to quality and safety of health care.
  • In 2017, she became certified in “Care of a patient with pain”.
  • In 2022, she received a certificate from an educational event called “Theoretical basics of quality and safety management”.
