Research Background:
The scientific focus of Markéta Moravcová is based on her qualification as a midwife, which she graduated from the Secondary Medical School in post-secondary studies in the field of midwifery. At Palacký University in Olomouc, Faculty of Education, she studied Teaching of Health and Social Subjects for Secondary Vocational Schools. She completed her doctoral studies at Charles University, Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Kralove in Hygiene, Preventive Medicine. The topic of her dissertation was the evaluation of health-related quality of life in women during the period influenced by menopause.

Since 2005 she has worked at the Faculty of Health Studies, University of Pardubice. Her scientific and research activities focus mainly on midwifery and education of non-medical health care workers. Her activities are closely related to her active involvement in professional activities - she is the president of the Czech Chamber of Midwives, z.s. and participates in the preparation of a number of documents and process settings in the field of midwifery. She is a member of working groups at the Ministry of Health for midwife education, preparation of the Concept of Midwifery and others. 

Her research focuses on assessing health and quality of life in postmenopausal women, quality of care and midwifery education. Pain in the context of childbirth is also another broad topic.
