Professional background:

 

 

Jana Skvrnakova graduated from the Secondary Nursing School in Pardubice (1981), specializing in General Nurs, from Palacky University in Olomouc with a master's degree (1997) and doctoral studies in Department of Social Health, Faculty of Medicine at the Masaryk Univerzity, Czech Republic (2011). His PhD research focused on the Role of Nursing Care in the Management of Psychological and Social Difficulties of Patients after Tracheostomy and Total Laryngectomy.

Since 2002 she teaches at the bachelor and master level and conducts nursing research at the Department of Nursing, Faculty of Health Studies, University of Pardubice, Czech Republic and at the same time she works as General nurse at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery Pardubice Hospital, Hospitals of the Pardubice Region, Czech Republic.

Her current research efforts focus on newborn hearing screening using otoacoustic emissions or automated auditory brainstem potentials, quality of life of people with cancer laryng and on quality of nursing perioperativ care.

  • Quality of life and communication problems buy patients after total laryngectomy
  • Quality of nursing periperativ care
  • Primary prevention in audiology
