Determination of the Standard Values of a New Taste Test (TASENS) in a Healthy Population

Description:
The project is a continuation of the completed TAČR GAMA2 project TP01010012 - 02/002, 03/004 (2020-2022) Taste test during the COVID epidemic using telemedicine. Under this grant, a pilot investigation was conducted using the taste strip method, which is the standard method used for taste testing (Landis, 2009; Liu, 2020). We produced a special size of filter papers impregnated with taste-quality solutions for this purpose, also intended for examination by the patient himself. A collaboration with the FEI and the FCHT of UPCE was established. An application for taste testing was created, which also allows examination by the patient himself and a unique carrier medium for applied taste solutions, which brought completely new capabilities in the examination. More than 200 people have been examined with the new method so far. The testing methodology has been presented in the Czech Republic and at foreign internships.
