This project is a continuation of a project from last year. The data collection from the first phase of the project has been completed and the data collection from the second phase is now underway. The specific objectives are described below. In the second year, data collection will be expanded to monitor additional variables (time parents spend with their child in the intermediate care unit, kangaroo time, length of separation after birth, transfer to rooming-in, maternal satisfaction with staff attitude) that will be monitored over the long term. The use of any allocated funds would be used mainly for publication, i.e. publication activity on the topic, which is a requirement for the PhD of the principal investigator, as well as the habilitation of two co-investigators.
