Description:
The project builds on projects from 2022, 2023, and 2024-25. Its primary goal is to train staff at neonatal units in the FCC approach (respect, partnership, information sharing, joint decision-making, quality communication) and in the care of premature babies in accordance with WHO recommendations (zero separation, skin-to-skin contact as soon as possible after birth, and kangaroo care as standard practice). The FCC approach to caring for premature babies leads to positive results: it increases breastfeeding rates, reduces parental stress and maternal depression, improves clinical outcomes for children, increases parental competence and self-confidence, promotes early bonding with the child, can shorten hospital stays, improves communication between staff and family, soft skills of staff, and leads to positive changes in work organization (Adella, Maraschin, Nagraj, 2025).
