The scientific activity mainly focuses on examining the sense of smell by assessing the taste for odours, rehabilitation of the sense of smell by measuring respiration, and methods of self-examination of taste.
On April 8, 2025, Assoc. Prof. Tomáš Syrový presented a test kit for the taste disorder examination at the Technology Day of the University of Pardubice. The test kit is the result of a joint project of the Faculty of Health Studies, Faculty of Chemical Technology, and Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics of the University of Pardubice, implemented in the TA ČR GAMA call.
