eng	Olfactory Function of Visually Impaired Persons	Whether the sense of smell of visually impaired people is more sensitive than healthy ones or can help them to orientate in the space, remains unclear. In total 30 subjects took a part in our study (15 healthy and 15 visually impaired people). We used OMT (Odorized Markers Test), Sniffin´ Sticks test (part Identification) and our new method (Test of Olfactory Orientation in the Space - TOOS) to compare olfactory ability of the both groups. When TOOS was performed, patient has his/her head fixed. His/her nostrils were surrounded by 3 pens, but only one was filled with the odorant (n-butanol or turpentine). The task was to localize the pen filled with the odorant. The results indicated that there was no statistical difference in the olfactory tests between both groups except OMT. Healthy subjects reached higher score than visually impaired. In both groups subjects were not able to localize the odorant in TOOS, which is in accordance with the literature. The difference in olfactory testing was found only using OMT. This can be explained by color of the markers, which can help subjects to identify the odorant.
