eng Measurement of interfascial hypertension in neck spaces Idea: Measurement of interfascial pressure is particularly topical in the area of the abdomen and limbs. Gained experiences confirm that knowledge of this topic and availability of monitoring of interfascial pressures lead to appropriate treatment and reduce number of complications in many patients. Authors try to apply such knowledge in the area of the neck which has not been before closely dealt with and they discuss individual options of pressure monitoring in the soft tissues of the neck. Method: a. A simple and not expensive method of interfascial pressure measurement is the use of a catheter filled with fluid and inserted into soft tissues or cavities. b. Pressure measurement in soft tissues with piezoelectric needle sensor which is inserted into the point of interest. c. Pressure measurement by which is inserted into neck soft tissues. Results: Use of intracranial hypertension monitoring sensors, which are standardly employed in patients with severe cranial trauma, is a compromise between price and quality of obtained data. These sensors can be inserted through a drain into the surgical wound and pressure could be measures in several points by inserting or pulling of a sensor. Conclusion: Authors suggest that better knowledge of pressures in intrafascial spaces directly after surgery and during the postoperative healing, suitably chosen degree of compression after surgery and at single dressing of the wound, together with evaluation of other factors (technique of surgery, sewing material, number, diameter and length of drain and so on) may reduce incidence of early and late complications of oncosurgical operations. kompartment syndrom, neck, methods, evaluation
