eng Acoustic properties of the ear and their influence on hearing loss The human ear as a complex has an individual but clearly defined transmission characteristics. As a result of this, different frequencies are transmitted in specific ways, with varying degrees of attenuation or amplification of acoustic waves. Hearing loss, according to audiometry, is divided into conductive, sensorineural and combined. The authors focus on the interpretation of the audiograms in patients with certain ear pathologies. Various methods were used to support the theories. Knowledge of acoustic properties of the ear is the only way to understand and interpret audiometric findings in patients with different pathologies.
