Tento článek je pokus o představení jednoho takového přístupu, metody "čtyř boxů", založené na knize Clinical ethics od autorů Jonsena, Sieglera a Williama. Tato metoda je užitečná nejen v klinické praxi, ale i při výuce etiky a je též vhodná ke grafickému znázornění v podobě čtyř boxů, neboť se zaobírá čtyřmi hlavními tématy - medicínskou indikací, preferencemi pacienta, kvalitou života a kontextem. eng Resolving ethical issues in clinical medicine Case analysis in clinical ethics needs a structured approach to assist medical professionals in analyzing and resolving ethical issues in clinical medicine. This paper is an attempt to present “The four quadrants” approach which is based on the book of Jonsen, Siegler and William named Clinical ethics. This method can serve in clinical practice as well as an instruction tool. Being composed of four broad topics – medical indications, patient preferences, quality of life, and contextual features is suitable for graphical representation as the four quadrants.
