eng	Diabetes and thyroid gland disorders – autoimmunity as a common cause	The case study presents a female patient, who had been improperly diagnosed and treated for type 2 diabetes mellitus. Hypothyroidism was diagnosed two years after diabetes diagnosis, and was controlled by substitution therapy without further work-up. It took five more months, unless autoimmunity was revealed as a common process causing both diabetes and hypothyroidism.
