Metodika: Byly vytvořeny dva typy edukačních lekcí. První typ byl pro české studenty zdravotnických studijních oborů (zejména ošetřovatelství). Tato lekce obsahovala video, procvičování dovedností a diskuzi. Na konci lekce edukanti absolvovali znalostní post-test. Druhý typ byl vytvořen pro studenty a akademické pracovníky v mgr. studijním oboru neurologické ošetřovatelství v Řecku. Skládal se z prezentace, ukázky vyšetření na standardizovaném pacientovi, procvičování dovedností a diskuze. Na konci byl edukantům ukázán hypotetický příklad pacienta; edukanti měli správně zdokumentovat vyšetření a jeho výsledek. Výsledky: Pětina (19 %) českých edukantů odpověděla na všechny otázky testu správně a více než polovina (54 %) řeckých edukantů správně identifikovala jednotlivé položky vyšetření, správně je zdokumentovala a interpretovala. Závěr: Edukační lekce nevedly k vynikajícím výsledkům, přestože byla do edukace zahrnuta diskuze a byl dostatečný prostor na procvičování. Byly pozorovány různé bariéry, které edukační lekci znesnadnily. eng Educating nursing students on the use of a dysphagia screening tool as a promotion of evidence-based nursing in clinical practice Objective: The aim is to compare the effectiveness of nurse-led educational sessions that focused on the correct implementation of a nursing dysphagia screening test developed in the Czech Republic. Methods: Classroom-based educational sessions of two types were designed. The first one was an educational session (delivered in Czech) for Czech students enrolled in non-medical health-related (mainly nursing) bachelor and master study programs. The session consisted of a video, hands-on practice, and a discussion. At the end of the session, the students completed a multiple-choice knowledge post-test. The second type was an educational session (delivered in English) for Greek students enrolled in a neurological master-level program and their nursing faculty members. The session consisted of a PowerPoint presentation, followed by a demonstration of the assessment on a standardized patient, hands-on practice and a discussion. At the end of the session, the participants were shown photographs of a hypothetical patient case and were asked to document the depicted assessment results on a blank documentation form. Results: One-fifth (19%) of the Czech students were able to answer all the post-test items correctly, whereas over half (54%) of the Greek participants were able to correctly identify, interpret, and document all the item assessments of the hypothetical patient. Conclusion: The educational sessions did not lead to perfect results, despite ample time for discussion and practice. A number of barriers arose that prevented the participants from achieving mastery, such as embarrassment and limited analytical skills.
