eng Typhoid Fever as a Biological Nazi Weapon in the Terezin Jewish Ghetto The paper is a historical overview study presenting the specific position of the Theresienstadt Jewish ghetto among other internment facilities, the living conditions of ghetto prisoners as the main predictor of the emergence of diseases and the targeted use of typhoid fever infection as a biological weapon against a vulnerable population (extremely underfed and undernourished civilian prisoners) at the end of World War II. Technically this was not scientific misconduct, as those events occurred far away from research laboratories or academic institutions in the context of a war. Nevertheless they fit a pattern of widespread medical omission and in many instances of active collaboration with the atrocities of the Nazi regime, which led to a criminal trial against members of the medical profession in Germany after World War II.
