Professional background:
Jan Vodička graduated in general medicine at the Palacký University in Olomouc in 2001. In 2004 and 2007, he became board certified in otorhinolaryngology; in 2009, he completed his PhD studies at the Medical Faculty of the Charles University in Prague with the PhD thesis titled “Olfactory Examination Focused on Chemical Workers”.
He has focused on otorhinolaryngology, namely olfaction, taste, and middle ear surgery, since he started working at the Pardubice Region Hospital in 2002. In 2005, he became a lecturer in otorhinolaryngology at the Faculty of Health Studies, University of Pardubice. Since 2014, he has been teaching otorhinolaryngology at the 1st Faculty of Medicine of the Charles University in Prague. In 2014, he was appointed as a senior consultant of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery of the Pardubice Regional Hospital.
Within his research activities, he has recently acted as a principal investigator of several research projects funded by the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic and by the University of Pardubice.
