Description:
Patients with oropharyngeal cancer are one of the most endangered groups with the risk of complications related to late diagnosis, underlying disease and later radical oncological or combined treatment. Late diagnosis or late detection of treatment complications (e.g. dysphagia, malnutrition) leads to compromised clinical outcomes, with increased length of hospital stay and increased rehospitalizations and cost of care. The aim of this project is to detect changes in the physiology of patients with oropharyngeal cancer and to identify factors that are associated with disease prognosis or the likelihood of complications.
