Description:
Aging is an important factor that influences taste perception. Taste disturbances have the potential to significantly lowering quality of life and have a possible influence on the malnutrition. There are already studies available describing the contribution of taste alteration to malnutrition, but there is still no consensus on the severity of impaired taste perception in relation to malnutrition in older people. The project?s aims are to 1) conduct a pilot study to test the feasibility of the new dry taste assessment method (TASENS), 2) organize a workshop and transfer knowledge on taste assessment, and 3) set the methodology and prepare materials for a joint scoping review focused on the assessment taste and nutrition in older adults.
