Dr. Miloslav Klugar, Methodology Centre of the National Institute for Quality and Excellence in Healthcare (NIKEZ), Institute of Health Information and Statistics of the Czech Republic
Dr. Miloslav Klugar is the Director and co-founder of three international centers operating in the Czech Republic: the Czech Republic JBI Centre, the Czech Republic Cochrane Centre, and the Czech Republic GRADE Network. These centers are part of the Methodological Centre of the National Institute of Quality and Excellence in Health Care (NIKEZ) at the Institute of Health Information and Statistics of the Czech Republic (IHIS-CR), established by the Czech Ministry of Health.
He is also an adjunct Associate Professor of Public Health at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, Adelaide University, Australia, and a Senior Researcher at the Faculty of Education, Palacký University Olomouc. Dr. Klugar focuses on the development, implementation, promotion, and teaching of the evidence-based approach, particularly in the context of evidence synthesis and guideline development.
He is a member of several international methodological groups within JBI, the GRADE Working Group, Cochrane, and GIN (e.g., Diagnostic Test Accuracy, Public Health, Umbrella Reviews, Rapid Reviews, Guideline Updating, GRADE Adolopment, Predatory Publishing, etc.).
Dr. Klugar is the authorized NIKEZ representative to GIN and serves on the Steering Committee of the international Evidence-Based Research Network as well as the GIN Board of Trustees. He was Chair of the Scientific and Local Organizing Committees of the Global Evidence Summit 2024 in Prague.
Dr. Klugar has successfully led more than twenty national and international projects, authored over 175 publications indexed in Web of Science with more than 4700 citations, and currently holds an H-index of 33 (Web of Science).
