Vlastimil Kozoň is an internationally recognized expert in the field of nursing, with extensive experience in both clinical and academic practice in Austria and Slovakia. He studied nursing and pedagogy in the former Czechoslovakia and has been working as a clinician, educator, researcher, and expert guarantor in the field of nursing since the 1990s.
His main areas of interest include vascular nursing, wound management, didactics, and the history of nursing education, particularly nursing phaleristics. He is the author and co-author of a number of professional books and articles. He regularly participates in international conferences and professional activities dedicated to the development of nursing practice. He actively collaborates with Viennese academic institutions, including related professional societies (e.g., Österreichische Gesellschaft für vaskuläre Pflege und Wunddiagnostik und Wundmanagement Österreich / Vienna Medical Academy). He heads the Department of Nursing Science and Research at the headquarters of the Vienna hospital Klinik Floridsdorf.
