eng A comparison of quality of life and disease severity of patients with chronic ischemic heart disease Introduction* The study is based on the need to objectify and systematically evaluate patients subjective quality of life connected with chronic ischemic heart disease (IHD) to find out patients limitation due to IHD in social roles, during daily activities and sports, and also whether the patient is bothered by taking a medicine etc. IHD was chosen, because cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are the first cause of mortality in Czech Republic (ÚZIS, 2013). As a concept of quality of life, a subjective, multidimensional Health Related Quality of Life (HRQoL) has been chosen. Aim of the study* The main aim of the study is to find out a connection between subjectively evaluated QoL and objective coronarography findings. Methods* A quantitative, longitudinal study design was chosen. All patients (approx. 300) will be admitted for elective coronarography due to chronic IHD. For the evaluation, two questionnaires will be used: a disease specific Seattle angina questionnaire (SAQ) with 19 items in five areas (Spertus, 1995) and a disease non-specific questionnaire EQ-5D-3L with five items and three possible answers (Rabin, 2001). The EQ-5D includes an independently evaluated visual analogue scale (VAS). After admission to the hospital, patient will fill in SAQ, EQ-5D-3L and demographic data will be noted. Biochemical factors and coronarography results will be reported. Patients health state, rehospitalization and new episodes of CVD will be recorded for three years. After that period, QoL, biochemical and demographical factors predicting CVD will be studied with the connection to the number of rehospitalization and new episodes of CVD. practicalcal or academic relevance* Results should show relevant, easy tool to evaluate quality of life patients with IHD. Results may confirm correlation between subjective quality of life and objective coronarography findings. It will allow us to focus more on prevention among patients with high risk factors. quality of life, cardiovascular disease, stable coronary artery disease
