eng Midwifery and Quality of Life of menopausal women Introduction: The aim of the author is familiar with the assessment of the quality of life of postmenopausal women. It is important to use standardized methods to assessment of quality of life, which are user friendly for clinical practice. Such a method is questionnaire Menopause Rating Scale (MRS), which is used in 27 languages. MRS is used to assess the quality of life, to assess the severity of symptoms of estrogen deficiency and to evaluate developments over time. Method: In my research is used a standardized questionnaire Czech version of the Menopause Rating Scale printed electronically. This is an 11items questionnaire containing estrogen deficiency symptoms in three domains – psychological, somato-vegetative and urogenital. Respondents are women aged 45-60 years with present symptoms of estrogen deficiency. Results: Czech women have difficulties only moderate in intensity, and they do not significantly affect the quality of life. The results are comparable with the world's research. Importance: The work of midwives and gynecologists and thorough education of women about menopause is very important. Methods for evaluating the quality of life in clinical practice can contribute to adherence clients and facilitate the establishment of communication between health care consumers and professionals.
