eng Mobbing and the Prevention of Mobbing Among Nurses and Midwives in the Czech Republic Mobbing is a widespread negative phenomenon affecting many professions, with nurses and midwives representing one of the most vulnerable groups in healthcare. In the Czech Republic, approximately 30% of nurses report experiences with mobbing, a prevalence comparable to the European average. The aim of this study was to identify the level of mobbing and the level of mobbing prevention among nurses and midwives in the Czech Republic and to analyse the relationships between them. A descriptive, cross-sectional, correlational design was used. Data were collected using the Short Negative Acts Questionnaire (SNAQ), the Prevention of Bullying Questionnaire (PBQ), and a demographic and work-related questionnaire. The SNAQ demonstrated excellent reliability (Cronbach’s alpha = 0.93), as did the PBQ total scale (Cronbach’s alpha = 0.95) and its subscales. The sample consisted predominantly of women (95%), with a mean age of 40 years. Nearly 28% of respondents met the criteria for being bullied based on self-identification and frequency of negative acts. Colleagues were identified as the most frequent perpetrators of mobbing, followed by supervisors. Prevention measures were generally rated as limited across institutional, unit, and individual levels. A significant negative correlation was found between the level of mobbing and the level of prevention, indicating that higher levels of prevention are associated with lower levels of mobbing. The findings confirm that mobbing remains a serious issue among nurses and midwives in the Czech Republic and highlight the urgent need for more systematic and comprehensive prevention strategies within healthcare organizations. mobbing; workplace bullying; nurses; midwives; prevention; healthcare settings; Czech Republic
