eng Extra Abdominal Fibromatosis (Desmoid Tumor): Case Report. Introduction: Aggresive fibromatosis (desmoid tumor) is an uncommon tumor arising from fascial musculoaponeurotic structures. Tumor is locally aggressive but not malignant. Therefore, its classification falls between the benign and malignant neoplasm of soft tissue origin. In the past, these lesions were misdiagnosed as low grade fibrosarcomas. Materials and mwethod: Case report. Results: A 36.- year- old woman had mass on the right side of her neck. The tumor was resected three times per one year. First and second histopathological was benign lesions. After the radical neck dissection the third biopsy was aggressive fibromatosis. The recurrence was during one year. The tumor exhibited a high intensity signal on T2 weighted MRI. Total resection with wide margins (extended radical neck dissection) was made with post surgical radiation (54 Gy). Histology was again aggressive fibromatosis. Now patient is without recurrence two years after treatment. Conclusion: Otolaryngologist should be familiar with this lesions because as many as 15% of them occur in the head and neck. The treatment of choice is wide surgical excision, which is often difficult. Postexcision recurrence rates are high. Nonsurgical treatment includes radiation and chemotherapy, both of which are usually reserved for recurrences. Fibromatosis;Desmoid Tumor;Neck Disection.
