eng Pain in Nursing Practice The professional literature underscores the importance of nurses possessing a sufficient level of knowledge and an appropriate attitude toward pain to ensure effective pain management in their patients. Nevertheless, there is currently no available questionnaire in the Czech language specifically designed to assess the knowledge and attitudes of Czech nurses regarding pain. This study aimed to undertake the translation of the Knowledge and Attitudes Survey Regarding Pain (KASRP) into Czech. The research method was translation. The language translation and validation process encompassed 10 comprehensive steps, employing both quantitative and qualitative methodologies. The development of the final version of the Czech questionnaire (KASPR-CZ) was guided by favorable outcomes in the content validity index, modified kappa statistics, and professional feedback received from eight nurses, two physicians, and one pharmacist. In conclusion, the translation process encountered challenges due to the inclusion of medications not commonly used in the Czech Republic. The complexity of the translation process, comprising numerous steps, rendered it demanding. However, adhering to a rigorous methodology was crucial to ensure the meticulous development of the Czech version, and a less stringent approach might have compromised its precision. attitude; knowledge; nurses; pain; translation
