eng The Model of Cultural Competences in Czech nursing practice Introduction* It is necessary for healthcare providers to integrate knowledge about differences in client´s culture into nursing care. In the czech nursing practice doesn’t exist any documents for minorities. Aim of the study* The first aim was to create a Czech version of the Model for Cultural Comptence by Larry Purnell. The second aim was to determine cultural specific characteristics of members of selected minority groups. The third aim was to develop nursing documentation based on the Purnell´s model for members of minority groups and to verify how user-friendly it is. Methods* The first phase of the research included translation of the Model for Cultural Comptence into Czech language by back to back translate by 4 experts. In the next phase,semi structured interviews were carried out with members of main national minorities in the Czech. Questions were made according Purnell´s Model and its domains, recorded and transcription was made and helps to text coding analysed. The third phase included the creation of nursing documentation for all minorities. Results** Interviews were conducted with 18 respondents (5 Roman Gypsies, 4 Muslims, 3 Vietnamese people and 6 Ukrainians). The information that had an influence on perceived nursing care (e.g. diet specifics, family roles, child birth) were used to create nursing documentation. For example muslims don’t eat pork meat, women shouldn´t be treated by men. The basic structure of the created documentation developed: communication, diet, religion, health care practice and pregnancy. Discussion / conclusion** Nursing documentation created on the basis of the identified specificities and the structure of the Its advantage is mainly clarity for a wide range of minorities in the Czech Republic. Purnell model appears to be practical for clinical practice in the Czech Republic.
