eng School social worker as an integral link between school and family The school social workers are conceptualized as the practitioners of social work in schools with the potential of collaboration with educators, and families. The challenges for school social workers in current times offer great opportunities in a deepening of necessary understanding and connection between the school and society, the families of pupils particularly. Despite the sustained efforts of all professionals and institutions involved, the role of the school social worker remains unclear to professionals at schools, and families as well and many school social workers feel marginalized (Gherardi, Whittlesey-Jerome, 2018). Another phenomenon that brings uncertainty not only to the school environment, have been ongoing changes in the current family background. The number of people living in the classical family model has decreased, as the number of families with risk factors, such as a parental instability has increased, and traditional parenting activities have weakened (Rice, Tan, 2017). Based on their professional competencies, school social workers provide individual, family and group-based intervention, and in some cases, when the lack of communication and educational competence of the parents contribute to the complications in the relations between the family and the school, school social workers can mediate better mutual understanding between all participants (Knox, Gherardi, Stoner, 2020). Once a problem is identified, the school social worker can offer individual assistance (Csók, Pusztai, 2022). School social workers use their professional competence for conflict mediation between parents and teachers, based on sensitivity to the power and cultural issues embedded in a parent–teacher relationship (Mo, Chan 2022). OBJECTIVE: The aim of this literary review is based on the study of literature in finding the effective models of work of school social worker which integrates schools and families together.
